The Mystery of The Indigo Valley

The Mystery of The Indigo Valley

Chapter-6

Disappeared out of the blue

“Well, I have to admit that Windwood was some sort of a god to us with Mr. Lock at a time but now he is nothing more than a crooked and a selfish person in the present scenario” he said ending his tale. I took leave from him soon afterwards. It was really a fascinating story but it didn’t seem to be linked somehow to my case or the mystery. After finishing some paper work and reports I called up the local police station where I was informed about plenty of odd happenings in the valley and the disappearances that occurred recently. They told me that during a daily collection session a woman with a infant child that worked in the collectors association disappeared instantly as she was about to leave for the work. I was really curious about this particular disappearance because it just happened in a matter of minutes and not even far away from the group.

I thought that it would be best if I stayed low for a couple of days and just inquire on my own with the town folks. So, I went on with my plan and disguised myself as a curious traveler who is very inquisitive about the disappearances and is willing to offer any help that is possible. Well, technically I am a tourist as I have no official order to scrutinize the mystery but I can ask for any official help as a head detective from the government when needed. When I discussed the matter with the locals I was not able to discover anything of importance except that the woman before disappearing was sort of terrorized because of something unknown from the morning. This fact led me to the idea that she must have been threatened long before or she knew that she was the target of those people. Whatever was the matter nothing was clear and perceptibly it wasn’t a typical kidnapping case that occurred in this sort of areas.

So, to discover the reality I mixed up with the collectors while they were plucking their flowers for the perfume factory and herbal uses. I talked with them for quite a while and started my discussion with some usual greetings and matters of life as collectors. Then I jumped on to the main topic for which I was going through all the trouble, to my astonishment even the family members of the missing woman and infant didn’t knew anything about the disappearance. Now everything was going out of control, the closest people to the missing were the woman’s mother who stated that her daughter and infant granddaughter just disappeared out of the blue!

The Mystery of The Indigo Valley

The Mystery of The Indigo Valley

Chapter-5

Series of disturbance

It was around four days after the incident, Mr. Lock purchased a fine slice in the northern estates and Oliver helped him to start the foundation work of the building. Everything thing was going smoothly when one morning the workers refused to work and called a day off, they said that the two and quarter inch pipe system of the LPG somehow broke last night and the whole building was in danger to set fire. But the matter of surprise was that this awful accident did not occur even when there were almost (MORE THAN 50) cigarette lighters lit together at the same time, some anticipated that the gas must not have covered a considerable area to set fire to a deadly explosion. The second absurdity of that incident was that the group of labors working at that place fell victim to some kind of nasty migraine and allergy. The work stopped for a week till the time workers healed, the building was complete in 8 months with an advance factory compartment and well made apartments for workers of the collectors association.
In the first month of the production, the business bloomed and money came raining for all the people related to the association. Workers, maids, managers, collectors and the head management got many more than they expected to get. Mr. Lock and Windwood made quite fortune and earned respect of the whole community of the valley, new colonies were set and slums were replaced. “I myself respected the two gentlemen more than anyone, but for one that respect vanished in one night and the other… he..h..he was not left to be respected’ He added with some treble in his voice. “It was the day of celebration for us who worked there in the factory, the two gentlemen were going to reward the top 20 best workers of the year. I was the best so I was the last one as they gave the rewards in descending order with same process while distributing the prize money, as I was going to receive the reward a bullet came gushing through the window and killed Mr. Lock. “It was...was……ri...Right in front of me and he died. We had our days of extreme mourning and pain but it turned into agony and rage when Windwood took over the whole company without any authorization and gave the financiers contract to the Shread’s. Everyone except few of the workers were bothered by the death of their master because they were getting even more increments and bonus money every month. We, the people who were really loyal to Mr. Lock were troubled and disturbed by his death so we left the company and started our own small scale industries. From that day Windwood turned out to be the traitor who did not cared for his friend and gave the financiers contract which meant 22 percent of the profits to the most wicked business man. More over that was the contract over which Lock turned to his fists and received many for his friend…..

Outrageous Past: The story of two friends

“Around 40 years ago, the indigo valley was not a famous city but a city full of slaves of rich” the man continued.” “Mr. lock was a young merchant who came from the west Europe with some special fragrances of the west. When he saw the valley he was amused by the beauty of the valley. He wanted to start the business on the very land and he settled in the place. He soon started looking for the men and women for employment in collectors association so that he could start his factory. He needed men for the labor work, so he got them from the village, now he needed a good financer for the company. “One day I was passing by the road when I saw two people mugging each other.” He continued with some pause. When I closed up the distance I found that they were talking and fighting over some financing stuff. Soon I understood that they were talking about financing the new company of a man named Mr. Lock as I did not knew at that time. “Guess who those people were?” he asked in between.”Well, if we consider the facts from your story, they must be Lock and Windwood.” I replied. “I expected you to say that! Chap!” he uttered with some confidence. Well, but they were lock and Mike Shread the grandfather of Albert Shread the CEO of the Red Shread Planet. The matter of that commotion over there was the possession of the financer’s contract; Mr. Lock was a man of his word and kept his promises well. He gave his word to Oliver Windwood the grandfather of Harvey Windwood the CEO of the Great Windwood Company which was a timber trading company at that time for the contract. Mr. Lock and Oliver were good friends and Oliver helped Lock quite a few times before he came to the valley, so it was obvious for him to give the contract to Oliver. But Shread who owned a small wooden handicraft industry that helped him make considerable fortune needed the contract for expanding his business.”What happened to the mugging incident” I asked when he completely forgot about that. “Nothing much except that the Shread broke his nose as he fell a victim of Lock’s fist. Afterwards people helped them [muggers] to keep their fists under control. But the most freakish and perhaps the most disturbing incident happened after that…..
